Things we like

A quick list of the things that influence our coffee: roasting, brewing, tasting, and sharing.

James Hoffman - Great hair. Greater sweaters. Also, coffee. If you don’t know James, checkout his award winning World Barista Challenge performance on YouTube.

ROEST sample roaster - Scandinavian chic. Understated and minimal. And it’s a bargain at...$6,000. You got to have dreams though, right?

Fika - Let’s keep the whole Scandinavian thing going. The art of a “coffee time-out.” Acknowledging the fact that coffee is best enjoyed in groups.

Via Volcan Coffee Roasters - My friend Chris has a farm in Panama and he makes the BEST geisha and caturra. Really, go visit him in Alexandria right now.

Specialty Coffee doesn’t have to be exorbitant though - despite the prices places like Blue Bottle command…. We’ve found that a $10 plastic V60 and boiling water were an easy way to step up our coffee game. For the busy traveller - you can’t go wrong with the aeropress. If you’re going to invest - I suggest starting with a good scale and a good, quality grinder.
